What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We are working with the developers of this platform to work on enhancements to the website (events.ahdb.org.uk) to achieve and maintain AA accessibility compliance for site functionality and all new content.

We provide web accessibility focused training for website editors, including promoting the use of the WAVE extension to test their pages.

How we test to improve accessibility

We use three industry trusted tools for monitoring our accessibility compliance listed below, and conduct scans at the following frequencies with each tool, reviewing results after each scan and raising with necessary teams to correct:

  1. SortSite Professional – Scanned monthly as part of a site integrity check, this includes accessibility compliance and broken link checking
  2. Axe DevTools powered by Deque – Scanned on pages during development for in-depth code analysis and industry accepted recommendations to fix code
  3. Wave Browser Extension – Scanned daily by content editors and web services team to identify issues with new content being created
